I am registered with several different regulatory organisations.

I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapists (NCH), a leading regulatory body of hypnotherapists ensuring the highest standards. I am also registered within this discipline with the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) whose key function is to enhance public protection by setting standards for its complementary therapists.

Concerning my Stress Management Services I am a member of The International Stress Management Association (ISMA) a leading professional body for stress management which sets standards and encourages excellence in professional practice for wellbeing and performance.

I regularly undertake continuing professional development and abide by strict codes of practice and ethics set by these professional organisations. I have professional liability insurance and I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to handle personal data.

My background and how it influences how I work today

I worked as a dentist for many years and built a reputation for being caring & conscientious. I attracted a lot of nervous and anxious patients & enjoyed helping them feel more at ease & more confident when coming for dental visits. I retired from dentistry in 2018.

Aside from being a dentist, I had always had a fascination with psychology and anything to do with human behaviour. When I started to work part-time in dentistry I seized the opportunity to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I chose a course that was the most comprehensive I could find and which was externally accredited by the National Council of Hypnotherapy.

Once I started my hypnotherapy training I was thirsty to learn more and more about the mind. This led me on a journey of further training in additional therapies namely cognitive behavioural therapy & neuro-linguistic programming. This I believe has given me more skills & techniques to help people overcome their problems.

Since setting up my Mindbalance Hypnotherapy business in 2010, I have also trained & qualified in Stress Management. Having previously worked as a dentist in general practice & in a hospital setting I have experienced first hand working in a high pressure environment whilst also having a busy home life. This has enabled me to be able to deliver realistic and effective stress management techniques to help people manage stress better & improve their wellbeing..
